Jennell F. Lynch, Corresponding Secretary, Board of Directors
Jennell Lynch is a ten year marketing communications veteran. Her areas of expertise include media relations, event planning, corporate communications, writing and editing. Currently, Jennell serves as Director of Marketing and Communications for Defywire, a leading mobile and wireless software company based in Herndon, Virginia.
She leads all corporate media and marketing initiatives and serves as a focal point for communication with the board of directors, senior management and the company’s shareholders, and occupies a key role in the administration of critical corporate matters.
Prior to Defywire, Jennell served as Deputy Press Secretary for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of the United States Senate. She planned, organized and facilitated press conferences, media events and prepared the Senator for selected media interviews. At the United States Senate, Jennell was appointed the Director of Communications for the Senate Staff Black Legislative Caucus for the 2002 session.
Before Senator Hillary Clinton, Jennell served as Website Editor for PLAYERS INC., the licensing and marketing arm of the NFL Players Association. At PLAYERS INC, she developed website content, quarterly newsletters and produced ads for major sports business publications.
Jennell serves on the board of the Hampton Roads Youth Foundation (HRYF), which assists high school athletes with free SAT Prep courses and technology tutorial programs. The HRYF also coordinates an annual two-day free football camp for 400 youth featuring professional football players from the Hampton Roads area.
A native of Hampton, VA, Jennell received her B.A. in Mass Communications from Norfolk State University. She is married to Jamez and they have two children; a son, Jamez Jr. and a daughter, Jaelyn.
